  • President: Yash Patel

    Good day everyone! My name is Yash Patel, and I'm really excited about serving as the President for Fall 2024. I'll be graduating in the summer of 2025 with my bachelor's degree in accounting. I completed my associate degree from St. Pete College. I did an assurance internship with Cherry Bekaert, and I have an assurance internship in Spring 2025 with Deloitte. Being a part of Beta Alpha Psi has been a great experience. Not only did it help me improve my communication skills, but it also allowed me to make some amazing connections with my peers and professionals. It's been instrumental in helping me figure out what I want to do with my life. When I'm not studying or working, I love spending time working out and hanging out with my friends and family.   • Vice President: Mai Tran

    Hi everyone! My name is Mai Tran, and I am honored to be serving as the Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi for Fall 2024. After graduating in Summer 2025, my goal is to further my education through the Master of Accountancy program at USF and obtain my CPA. Moreover, I will be joining EY as an Audit Intern in Spring 2025, where I look forward to delving deeper into the world of accounting. Outside of my work/study hours, I find joy in running, experimenting with new recipes, and spending quality time with my loved ones.

    Beta Alpha Psi has connected me with many like-minded and inspiring individuals who have provided invaluable support on my journey toward professional development. The welcoming and supportive environment I encountered during my candidate semester has motivated me to contribute as an officer, helping BAP grow even bigger and better. I am very excited to see the progress and success of our incoming candidates and current members.   • Treasurer: Pooja Bhasar

    Hello everyone, My name is Pooja Bhavsar, and I am excited to serve as your Beta Alpha Psi Treasurer for Fall 2024. I am currently a senior, double majoring in Accounting and Business Analytics & Information Systems. This past summer, I had the privilege of completing an audit internship at CLA, and I am looking forward to another incredible experience at RSM in Spring 2025. Since joining Beta Alpha Psi in Spring 2024, I have been fortunate to connect with many intelligent and inspiring individuals, and these connections have significantly enriched my journey in the accounting field. In my free time, I enjoy baking, exploring new restaurants with my family, and spending time at the beach. I am looking forward to working with all of you and contributing to another successful semester for Beta Alpha Psi.

  • Secretary: Andrew Guerrero

    Greetings, everyone! I am Andrew Guerrero, honored to serve as your Beta Alpha Psi Secretary for Fall 2024.

    I am currently a senior majoring in Accounting with a minor in Management. My journey has been enriched by intensive training at Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia, with the United States Marine Corps, where I absorbed invaluable lessons in accountability, leadership, and fostering a constructive influence within teams.

    My introduction to Beta Alpha Psi last semester marked a pivotal moment in my academic career. This esteemed organization not only fosters personal growth but also provides a platform to forge meaningful connections and expand horizons beyond comfort zones.

    Beyond my academic pursuits, I find solace in running, gym workouts, and engaging literature. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with the Beta Alpha Psi community to uphold our legacy of professionalism and enhance the unparalleled experience it offers.

  • Reporter: Andrew Moor

    Hello, my name is Andrew Moor, and it is my pleasure to serve as Reporter for the Fall 2024 semester. Entering into my senior year in the pursuit of a bachelor's in accounting, I am excited. Not just to achieve a major milestone, but to also gain knowledge and experience that will prove to be invaluable within my future endeavors. Such as, when realizing my professional dreams by performing future internships at both Mauldin & Jenkins, and KPMG. Two significant markers in my life path and professional journey. Though I don’t do it alone, among me are many other fantastic future accountants who are moving through the same motions as I am; and that is why Beta Alpha Psi is so special. As in being a community, we support one another in the best possible ways; by facilitating professional growth and networking opportunities, wiliest encouraging an open and friendly environment. I am thankful to have experienced this firsthand and wish to do my part in furthering BAP, so that many others like me can experience it too. As the advice and friendships found here are done so in abundance.   • IS Director: Aaron Do

    Hi everyone! My name is Aaron Do, and I am looking forward to being your IS Director for this Fall semester. Currently, I am a senior at USF majoring in Accounting. I had the pleasure of completing a tax internship with Warren Averett in Spring 2024, and an audit internship with Salt Marsh this summer. In the upcoming spring semester, I will be doing another tax internship with Warren Averett. Beta Alpha Psi has provided wonderful networking opportunities, helping me connect with accounting professionals and firms. I'm grateful for the friends I've made along the way and for the opportunity it has given me to grow professionally and individually. And now, I would like to give back and help continue to make BAP just as a special place for both members and candidates to develop themselves individually and professionally. Faculty Advisors

  • Jennifer Cainas

    Jennifer M. Cainas is a professor of instruction at the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy and currently serves as the Associate Dean for Financial Management and Business Operations for the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida. Jennifer currently teaches large, mass lecture classes for introductory financial and managerial accounting. 

    During her teaching career, Cainas has taught and mentored over 25,000 business students and has won numerous teaching awards at the college, university, state, and national level, including the J. Michael and Mary Anne Cook/Deloitte Foundation Prize in 2024. She is also the faculty advisor for the Delta Gamma Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi and received the national outstanding faculty advisor award sponsored by RSM, both in 2023 and in 2013.

    Cainas completed her Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Florida and bachelor’s and graduate degrees in accountancy at the University of South Florida. She is also a licensed CPA in the State of Florida.

  • Luke Richardson

    Luke Richardson is an associate professor of instruction and Kerkering Barberio Fellow in the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy. He teaches courses in taxation of individuals and business entities and is a past recipient of the Advisory Council’s Outstanding Teaching Award. He also serves as a faculty advisor for the Delta Gamma chapter of Beta Alpha Psi.

     

    Richardson, a licensed CPA and lawyer in Florida, worked with Deloitte prior to taking his position at the university. He serves as an editor and author on Pearson’s Federal Taxation textbook and has published articles in practitioner journals such as Tax Notes, The Tax Adviser, and the Journal of Accountancy. He also continues in his professional practice and has been featured as a tax expert in many print and television news media outlets.

     

    Richardson completed a juris doctorate at the Stetson University College of Law and bachelor’s and graduate degrees in accountancy at the University of South Florida.
